Bismillah
In a lecture, Shaykh Abdul Aziz of Pakistan speaks about some incidents of sexual abuse amongst Muslim families.
Here is the translation of a selected portion of the lecture:
A young daughter would come to the madrasah and tell the Mufti that she wants to commit suicide, so the Mufti would tell her that suicide is not permissible. She would repeat it over and over, so he asked her, “Why my daughter?”.
She said that her father keeps her tied under a bed, and tries to rape her on a daily basis. The step mother of the daughter verified what the girl said by saying, “she is speaking the truth, this girl is regular with tahajjud and salah, but her father is a big zaalim(oppresser) who rips off her clothes and tries to be with her.”
After further investigation, I spoke to the authorties to raid the house of the girl. But the authorties said that they have no reason to. I said to them ‘The authorities are always ready to enter other houses without reason but they cannot enter a house to stop oppression?’
So I told my wife, “we will go ourselves.” So when we knocked on the door and the man opened it, the female students pushed their way into the house and went to cover up the female members of the house, and then I entered.
I swear to you that the girl was tied under the bed.
The girl had told us previously that she wanted to study in the madrasah, so we told the father that she is going with us, but the father threathened to kill us. Finally we asked the girl again, and she confirmed her desire to go study, and the father started hurling insults at her and threatened to kill her.
Eventually we brought her with us, and entered her into the madrasah.
The father said that I can do with my daughter what I please. He also would say to her, when she would say, “this is haraam father”, “you will do this with someone else eventually, do it with me.”
The step mother would ask the father to atleast open the hands of the girl, so she can eat. The father replied, “she is her fathers slave, throw the bread at her so she eats the bread of the ground with her mouth.”
Another incident:
There was a hafidha that studied here, who came back to the madrasah after visiting home for the night.
She kept weeping the the whole day. Finally my wife asked her what happen?
She said that at home her grandmother and mother had gone out, and only her uncle was home. He told her to go inside the room and fetch some clothes for him.
So she went inside to do it, and he came in the room, locked the door behind him, and tied me up and raped me.
